About RunSync

What is RunSync?

RunSync is a workout planning app for runners. It helps you build structured running workouts, start from templates, plan calendar-based training blocks, and sync supported sessions to Garmin Connect so they are ready on a compatible Garmin watch.

Who is RunSync for?

RunSync is for runners who use structured training and want a faster way to create intervals, tempo runs, long runs, recovery runs, reusable templates, or race-focused training blocks.

Does RunSync replace Garmin Connect?

No. RunSync works alongside Garmin Connect. You create, save, schedule, or generate workouts in RunSync, connect Garmin, and sync supported structured workouts to Garmin Connect.

Garmin sync

Can I sync workouts to my Garmin watch?

Yes. RunSync can sync supported structured running workouts to Garmin Connect. Once Garmin Connect receives the workout, compatible Garmin watches can use it. Learn how to sync structured running workouts to Garmin.

Do I need a Garmin account?

Yes. You need a Garmin Connect account to connect Garmin and sync workouts.

Is RunSync an official Garmin app?

No. RunSync is an independent app. It connects with Garmin using Garmin's developer integration flow so users can grant permission to sync supported structured workouts to Garmin Connect.

Why do I need to connect my Garmin account?

Garmin requires you to grant permission before a third-party app can send supported structured workouts to your Garmin account.

Can RunSync automatically send scheduled workouts to Garmin?

Pro users with Garmin connected can enable auto-send for eligible scheduled workouts. RunSync will attempt to send the workout to Garmin for the planned date. Only one workout per day can have auto-send enabled.

What happens if I disconnect Garmin?

RunSync will no longer be able to sync new workouts or auto-send scheduled workouts to your Garmin account unless you reconnect Garmin.

Workouts

What types of workouts can I create?

You can create structured running workouts with warm-ups, active running steps, intervals, recoveries, strides, steady running, tempo-style work, long-run segments, and cool-downs.

Can I create interval workouts?

Yes. RunSync is designed for interval-style running workouts, including repeat blocks with work and recovery steps. You can create the structure, review it, save it on paid plans, schedule it, and send supported workouts to Garmin.

Can I start from a workout template?

Yes. Run Builder includes a workout chooser so you can start from available templates, load the structure into Run Builder, and adjust the workout before saving, scheduling, or sending it.

Can I save workouts and reuse them?

Yes. Signed-in Basic and Pro users can save workouts. Saved workouts appear in My Account and can be loaded back into Run Builder, which helps avoid recreating recurring sessions from scratch.

Can I edit a workout after creating it?

You can adjust a workout in Run Builder before saving, scheduling, or sending it. Saved and scheduled workouts can be loaded back into Run Builder so you can make changes as part of your workflow.

Can I calculate and save training paces?

RunSync includes training pace tools that estimate pace bands from a race performance. Signed-in Basic and Pro users can save pace bands for reuse, and Run Builder can apply pace guidance to compatible workout sections.

Which Garmin watches are supported?

Support depends on Garmin device compatibility with structured workouts. Supported workouts synced to Garmin Connect can then be used with compatible Garmin watches.

Calendar and programs

Can I schedule workouts on a calendar?

Yes. Signed-in users with calendar access can schedule workouts on specific dates, view planned training in Calendar, open scheduled workouts in Run Builder, copy workouts to another date, and delete scheduled workouts.

Can RunSync create a training program?

Yes. Calendar includes a Program Setup Wizard that can create a race-focused training program from your training paces, race distance, target, preferred long-run day, start date, and weekly running frequency.

What distances can the program planner support?

The program planner supports 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon program generation.

Can I preview or regenerate a program before adding it to my calendar?

Yes. RunSync shows a program preview before it is committed to your calendar. You can review the week-by-week workouts, regenerate the preview, or cancel before adding the program.

What happens when I add a program to my calendar?

When you commit a generated program, RunSync creates scheduled workouts on the calendar, labels them as program workouts, and lets you view the program week and workout details from Calendar.

Can program workouts be sent to Garmin?

Program workouts are created as scheduled structured workouts. You can send eligible scheduled workouts to Garmin, and Pro users with Garmin connected can enable auto-send when adding a program.

Can I remove a generated program from my calendar?

Yes. Calendar includes a remove-program action for the latest committed program. By default it removes future scheduled workouts from that program.

Plans and billing

What can I do on the free plan?

Free users can build structured running workouts and manually sync up to 3 supported Garmin workouts each month. Saving workouts, saving training paces, unlimited manual Garmin syncs, Calendar access, program generation, and Garmin auto-send automation require a paid plan.

What does Basic add?

Basic adds unlimited manual Garmin workout syncs, saved workouts, and saved training paces. It is the paid plan for runners who want to reuse workouts and pace guidance without the free monthly Garmin sync limit.

What does Pro add?

Pro includes everything in Basic and adds Calendar access, the race program generator, scheduled workout management, and Garmin auto-send automation for eligible scheduled workouts when Garmin is connected.

Can I manage or change my subscription?

Yes. Signed-in users can manage subscription actions from My Account. Basic subscribers can upgrade to Pro in the app.

Account and privacy

Is my Garmin login shared with RunSync?

No. You sign in through Garmin's authorization flow. RunSync should not ask for or store your Garmin password.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. After signing in, open My Account and use the Delete account option. You will need to enter your password and confirm the deletion.

RunSync stores the account and app data needed to provide the service, such as profile details, saved workouts, scheduled workouts, generated program details, training settings, subscription state, and Garmin connection information when you connect Garmin. See the privacy policy for more detail.

Troubleshooting

My Garmin account says it is not linked. What should I do?

Reconnect Garmin from RunSync, check that the permission step completed, and try the sync again.

My workout did not appear on my watch. What should I check?

Check that Garmin Connect has synced, your watch supports structured workouts, Garmin is still connected in RunSync, and the workout shows as synced successfully in RunSync.

What should I do if an auto-send to Garmin fails?

Check that Garmin is still connected, confirm the scheduled workout is eligible to sync, and use the retry action in Calendar when it is available.
