runsync.app is a web application designed to help runners plan, track, and analyse their training. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: your email address and a secure password when you create an account.
- Connected-service data: an authorisation token from Garmin Connect or other platforms that allows runsync.app to access your workouts on your behalf.
- Workout data: workouts you create or export within runsync.app.
- Usage data: minimal analytics (e.g. page visits, error logs) to maintain and improve the service.
2. How we use your data
- To provide, maintain, and improve the runsync.app service.
- To store and synchronise workouts with Garmin Connect or other connected services (only when authorised by you).
- To communicate important updates or security notices.
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
runsync.app does not extract, resell, or permanently store your Garmin data beyond what is necessary to perform your requested syncs.
3. Data storage and security
- Data is stored securely in EU/UK-based databases.
- Passwords are hashed; OAuth tokens are encrypted and used only to access your connected accounts.
- Tokens and associated data are deleted if you disconnect Garmin or delete your account.
4. Third-party services
runsync.app connects to platforms like Garmin Connect through official APIs under your explicit consent. Each platform’s access is governed by your choices and by that platform’s own privacy policy.
You may revoke access at any time via your runsync.app account or directly within Garmin Connect.
5. Your rights
You may:
- Request deletion of your account and all related data.
- Export your workout data before deletion.
- Withdraw consent to third-party access at any time.
Our lawful bases for processing are performance of a contract (to provide the service you signed up for) and consent (for third-party integrations such as Garmin Connect).
runsync.app complies with UK GDPR and EU GDPR requirements for data protection and privacy.
6. Cookies
runsync.app uses only essential cookies and/or local storage to maintain your login session and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
